KASULU POWER STATION
BACKGROUND
Kasulu Power Station is found in Kigoma Region, Kasulu District.The construction of Kasulu Power Station started in 2010. The project was funded by the Government of Tanzania . The foundation stone was laid by the fourth President of the United Republic of Tanzania his Excellency Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete on June, 2010.Plant use liquid fuel as the source fuel for Generation.
INAUGURATION
Kasulu Power Station started to generate electricity in 23th October 2011.
OPERATION
The Plant is 100% operated and maintained by Tanesco. Kasulu Power Station is installed with two diesel fired ABC- 8DZC engines, each with a capacity of 1.25MW making a total installed capacity of 2.5MW, and the available capacity is also 2.5MW. Kasulu Power Station is an isolated power plant, it supplies power to Kasulu town, Buhigwe and Makere.
